Luis Malpica de Lamadrid is the new consul general of Mexico in Houston. He was the chairman of the Federal Court of Administrative and Fiscal Justice of Mexico from 2006 to 2007 after completing his doctoral studies in law at the Universidad Autónoma de México and the University of Paris in France.
Malpica was a university professor for 40 years and also held prominent positions in Mexican financial institutions such as Banamex and Grupo México Serfín in the 90s. His first assignment abroad was as consul general of Mexico in San Juan, Puerto Rico, in 2008.
